Answers:

Do you have a microwave oven? Just make your cake and then put it in a microwavable glass container. Read your microwave instructions for timing or find a MW recipe on the internet.

Alternately mix your usual cake mix and put into a well-greased pudding bowl. Cover with greaseproof paper and foil, tying down tightly. Put in a deep pan, pour in boiling water but only half the height of the bowl max. Steam for one or two hours depending on the size. Only take the lid off to check water has not boiled off.

Another way is to put a cake mix into a shallow glass container, cover in the same way to exclude steam and water drips and place in a steamer or colander over a pan of boiling water. The lid needs to fit well, so the cake steams nicey.

Good luck!

Got a large pot of water that you cake pan fits in with room around the edges.

Bring about 2-3 inches of water to a boil (enought o come up 1/2 on the pan) cover tha cake pan with foil, place in pot and reduce to a simmer. Cover withlid and setam until a tooth pick comes out clean.
