Can you make pancakes this way?!

Question: Can you make pancakes this way?
eggs
butter
milk
whole wheat flour

Answers:

This is about as basic as you can get...

2 cups flour
2 cups milk
2 eggs (beaten)
1/3 cup butter (melted)
2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Makes approximately 8 pancakes

In a large bowl combine flour, milk, beaten eggs, 1/3 cup melted butter, sugar, baking powder and salt until just blended.
Preheat lightly greased griddle or frying pan. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into pan per pancake. Cook until pancakes begin to bubble. Flip once and cook for 1 to 2 minutes longer.

You do need baking powder................

How about...

Easy Whole Grain Pancakes

Yield:
4-5 servings

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups whole grain flour (I like to combine Paul's 7-grain flour with whole wheat pastry flour)
4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk or buttermilk
4 eggs

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the first 4 ingredients.
2. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
3. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
4. Lightly oil a griddle or skillet (cast iron or non-stick works best) and heat over medium heat until hot.
5. Spoon batter onto griddle. Flip pancakes when bubbles break (and don't re-close). Serve hot with syrup, fruit, or just enjoy plain! Leftover pancakes can be re-warmed in the toaster.

well of course. you don't need anything more, if you had some soda like 7 up or sprite its great to add to the batter- makes it very frothy and bubbliy.

Use the butter to grease the pan, and the flour milk and eggs to make the batter.

Perfect, you dont need more for pancakes.

PS what alondra said is not true, you really don't need more than you have. Baking soda, or some form of soda is a good idea but it's nt 100% necessary.

You need a little baking powder and a pinch of salt. Not really absolutely necessary but w/o the baking powder your pancakes won't be fluffy. equal parts milk and flour, 1 egg per cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of butter per cup of flour. Let the batter sit and thicken for about 10 minutes before you cook for nice and fluffy pancakes. Cook til they bubble on top then flip. I suggest throwing in some blueberries! Yum!

I <3 pancakes!

Don't forget sugar, salt , and baking powder. If you try it like that, they'll end up watery and bitter.
