Obviously, i love english mustard and always have some in powder form as a food additive. Great for home-made mayonnaise. Maille is superb and i can never throw ayay those large jars, but preferred it when they used wax on the tops. I hae recently been going to a Polish deli and find their range of different flavour mustards amazing and far more diverse han any ihave seen in England or France, but none as hot an tasty as good old english!
i always use Colmans englsh mustard, and you shoul try a pinch of mustard in your next cup of coffee .tates better also when mixing up the egg ,milk, dab of butter for a good scrambled egg roll i
always put 1/2 teaspoon of mustard in the mix before cooking . lovely.of course i use the powder variety for these ,and get dijon french mustard for my salads in the summer.
Making your own mustard used to be standard in all British households and its coming back into fashion to develop your own 'house' recipe because made fresh it is so much better than out of a jar. As soon as mustard is made / opened it starts to deteriorate.
You can get yellow mustard powder and yellow and black mustard seeds (as well as many other spices from the source below)

I personally like Kosciusko mustard. Hard to find out west, as it's a New England brand - or was. Named for Tadeusz Kosciusko, who fought in the American Revolutionary War as a colonel in the Continental Army before returning home to Poland.

I've tried stoneground mustard, which is very good.
If you have the powdered mustard, suggest mixing that with either wine, beer, or water (adjust to taste).

Hot stuff - Colman's English mustard. Buy a box of powdered Colman's mustard and make as per instructions. Yummy on cheese sarnies too. Put into soups and stews.
Use it all the time
Go to Asda and find Tewksbury Horseradish Mustard.... you'l never go back
Tried it and never went back
I like honey-mustard mixes. I think Maille has one, so does several others.
If you want texture, try for old-style (grainy) mustard.
you can always try the ultimate mustard. ( not for faint hearted) Colmans.. English mustard.
Moutarde Des Chanoines....it is French whole seed type mustard, like a dijon style mustard, very good.
