How long can soup stay in the refrigerator without spoiling?!

Question: How long can soup stay in the refrigerator without spoiling?
I made soup (beef barley) on Thursday but it was supposed to go into the freezer. It has been in the fridge for 5 days. If I bring it to a boil, will it still be safe to eat?

If it has been tightly sealed, it should be OK.

As a rule of thumb, use your nose on anything refrigerated less than a week. If it has been there a full week, toss it out.

I'm sure it will be okay. I make a big pot of soup every week and eat it for an entire week, stored in a large tupperware type of container in the refrigerator and I haven't had any problems. I use a little rosemary in mine because it is a natural preservative and anti-oxidant. If you don't like the taste just use a tiny bit that's all it takes.

I actually leave my soup on the stove, unrefrigerated, for several days. Boiling it for 15 minutes kills organisms and denatures botulism toxin. Refrigerated? You are golden.

You must be very cheap to save soup for 5 days. You should not eat it. You will suffer debilitating diarrhea and your stomach will turn inside-out. Hope that helps!

Any form of beef, whether it is in soup or not, is max 3 days in the fridge When in doubt, throw it out. Why take a chance for a little more soup?

depends if its been open or sealed tight if its been more then 3 days don't bother eating it. i might of went bad.
