How do you cook beef in a pan?!
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (14.5 ounce) can cut green beans, drained
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Directions
1.In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 40 minutes or until rice is tender.
This doesn't seem like enough instructions. I don't know how to cook beef. And do I season before hand. Also how would you cook the rice. separtely or with the rest of the ingredients?

Put the beef in the pan and press "ON". Cook until brown.
The recipe calls for UNCOOKED RICE because it will cook with the other ingredients.
It's that simple; just follow directions.
Heat some oil in the pan to prevent sticking.
Place thawed beef in pan, break up with spatula.
When pinkness is gone, drain off excess fat.
The recipe calls for cooking the rice with the rest.
It will absorb a lot of the liquid & flavour.
40 minutes is enough time to cook it.
I would fry the beef, drain the fat, add the ingredients as suggested in the recipe. Then cover the pan and reduce heat to simmer until rice is done. The recipe is good and I have used a similar one that way.
