One method is to make it like you would make marble cake. You divide the batter into equal parts and put different food coloring in each part. You can layer the different colored batter over and over and after just take a toothpick or skewer and run it thru the batter randomly to allow for colored swirls after baking.

one way would be to take small colored batches of batter and put them into small baggies. Take these baggies and place them into a larger baggie snip the end to allow the batter out all at an even flow.

i love doing this! take 5 bowls and fill them with cake batter. get food dye and make all five bowls seperate color. then pour them into one large bowl without mixing them! then scoop them into the cupcake sections of the pan. hope i helped(:
