My bf has recently started working and I want some good ideas for his lunches.?!

Question: My bf has recently started working and I want some good ideas for his lunches.?
I don't want to make him sandwiches all the time and since I am a stay at home mom now I want to make sure he is well fed. Before I was working and he was a stay at home dad but now we switched roles and have very different taste in foods. Anything will help. Thanks :)

I usually make things that freeze well and that I can portion out over time, things like chicken spaghetti, meatloaf, any cassarole. Also switch up the sandwiches - sometimes cold meat & Cheese, then egg salad, chicken salad, club sandwich, also switch up the bread that you use. Another thing I do to make him laugh is use my kids cookie cutters/sandwich cutters and I will cut his sandwich into shapes. My kids love it, obviously, and it gives my husband something to laugh about in the day.

Depending on his ability to refrigerate or warm things you'll have to adjust accordingly. Leftovers in a microwavable dish is a good idea. I do homemade soups and we take those, casseroles, lasagna. Salads with the dressing in a separate container, fresh fruit with cottage cheese, wrap sandwiches using whole wheat or other flavors of tortillas or pita pockets. I take yogurt, low fat and a small baggy with granola to work to add when I'm ready to eat.

Did he make your food when he was at home and you were working? If so OK, if not what are you doing - he can do this himself and will make it just the way he likes it.

As a working mum I'm constantly amazed by how many men open their lunchboxes and MOAN! about the contents. They usually have the grace to look sheepish if I ask them what could be the problem when they are in complete control of making their own lunch? and then own up that their partner made it. I don;t know any women who have their partners make their lunch box for them!

If he likes sushi, one of my favorites is to take a little leftover meat or veggies, make some sushi rice and roll it in nori, then instead of cutting it, just wrap the whole thing up in foil. It is filling, easy to improvise, and the foil holds it together so its okay if your not the best sushi roller.

All the ideas are good but don't forget the apple/orange/banana/pear. Crisps and maybe he can take a jelly for afters or a cake/piece of fruit pie.
Hope it all works out for you.

When you make dinner in the evening serve an extra portion for him to take to work to reheat.

For years I took sandwiches and devised all types of fillings to be different.

Everything toasted with red onions

google it!
