Is it bad to eat 3 year old oregano leaves?!

Question: Is it bad to eat 3 year old oregano leaves?
I put about a spoonful of oregano leaves into my food when I was cooking, and realised afterwards that they expired in 2008. o___O

But even though they were opened, they've been stored properly and smelt okay. Is it bad to eat 3 year old herbs?

Answers:

They should be fine if they were stored properly. They will lose their potency.

It isn't bad.......but you are the only one who can tell if there is still a strong aroma..Some spices lose their potency after that long........................
