can someone give me an awesome chocolate chip cookie recipe?!


Question: Can someone give me an awesome chocolate chip cookie recipe?
I am tired of baking pre-made dough. I want to bake my favorite cookie from scratch and I need a good recipe. I have used the one on the back of toll house chocolate chips packages in the past but I think there must be something better. I like to use all natural ingredients and real butter.

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLé? TOLL HOUSE? Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts

PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. ..........

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
3.Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.



The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted & cooled until warm
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg plus another yolk
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Adjust oven racks to upper and lower middle positions and heat oven to 325 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Whisk dry ingredients together and set aside.
With an electric mixer, or by hand, mix butters & sugars until throughly combined.
Add dry ingredients & beat at low speed until combined Stir in chocolate chips.
Roll into tablespoon sized balls and place on place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
Bake, reversing position of cookie sheets halfway though baking, until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges start to harden yet centers are soft & puffy (about 17 minutes).
Cook cookies on sheets until able to lift without breaking and place on wire rack to cool.

Here is a chocolate chip cookie recipe my ex-wife developed when she was in high school back in the late60's and early 70's. Everyone loves them and she has given the recipe to dozens if not hundreds of people. Imagine her annoyance when she saw the recipe not just in one cookbook but in several and in each attributed to a different person. Use the recipe, and enjoy the cookies. Feel free to share the recipe, but please give Marcia the credit she is due.

IMO, these produce the best Chocolate chip cookies ever.

Marcia’s Original Cowboy Cookies

2-cup flour
1-teaspoon soda
? teaspoon baking powder
? teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1-cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups oats
2 cups chocolate chips
1-teaspoon vanilla

Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and sugars. Mix well. Add eggs. Beat till smooth. Mix in dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

1 1/2 sticks butter (12 tablespoons)
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 cup golden raisins, soaked in hot water (optional)
1 cup semi-sweet morsels

Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs.

Sift flour and measure out 2 1/4 cups. After measuring the sifted flour, sift again with remaining dry ingredients. Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar mixture.

Stir in vanilla, nuts and semi-sweet morsels. (We like Macadamia nuts and almonds, but walnuts, pecans or peanuts may be used). Add raisins, if using. Craisins make a nice variation.

Drop the cookie batter by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set and firm and only lightly colored. Do not allow cookies to brown.

Transfer to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container. Cookies may be wrapped well and frozen.

I have tried a few recipes, but I always still liked the Nestle Tollhouse ones better.They have to be baked Just right, though!
