Hello! Can you help me with a question regarding induction cooktops...?!

Question: Hello! Can you help me with a question regarding induction cooktops...?
Are the Portable Induction Cooktops compatible with stainless steel cookware?
I just don't want to buy one and waste my $$$ in vane since I only use stainless steel cookware and I heard that it must be "magnetic"? Can you explain that?

Can I still use stainless steel cookware with a double portable induction cooktop?

Also can I place bigger stainless steel pots? Because I have a 12 inches steamer that will not fit the circle mark where you have to place the pot.

Thank you.

Answers:

yes, they are compatible with MOST stainless steel cookware
they need to have enough magnetic metal on the bottom though... some pans will work better than others. most induction systems will actually tell you if your pans will work

the best way to tell before buying the cooktop... take a magnet and stick on the bottom of the pan... if it sticks well, it will work, if it doesn't it won't.

yes, you can put bigger pots and pan on the cooktop, as long as they have enough magnetic material in contact with the induction area, it will work.

They're compatible with any stainless that a magnet will stick to. Buy a cheap magnet and test what you have. You can't tell by looking, unless it says "for induction use" or something like that right on the cookware. My stainless all works on my induction hotplate, except one very cheap stockpot. The pot can be bigger than the circle.
