Can I bake wooden kabob sticks in the oven?!

Question: Can I bake wooden kabob sticks in the oven?
I am preparing food for a large party in a few weeks and am preparing a menu. I was thinking about doing some chicken kabobs. The party will be at a community centre with an on site oven. I was planning on cooking these at the centre but I don't know if I can broil these there. Every recipe I've seen says to broil or grill, but I don't know if that will be possible. Could I just bake these in the oven? Would the wooden sticks be ok? Should I soak them and maybe cover them with foil?

Answers:

Wooden sticks should always be soaked for several hours, preferably overnight.
The reason for grilling or broiling kabobs is to sear the meat for flavour.
Transporting uncooked chicken could be very dangerous for food poisoning.
I'd cook them at home, then wrap in foil, & reheat in the community centre.

Yes you can bake them! Soak the sticks in water for a few hours (or overnight) as this will prevent them from burning! Don't forget to turn them during cooking.

Yes, it is no problem to make these in the oven

My only suggestion would be to soak the wooden sticks in water (For as long as possible) or to use metal ones if you can get them

Cook every night

Sure you can!

just soak them in water for half an hour or so before assembling the kabobs, just the same as if you were going to grill them.

Just soak the sticks in water over night and problem solved. U can even grill them.
