Make Idaho potato flakes without milk?!

Question: Make Idaho potato flakes without milk?
Can I make them without milk?
I have a box of Idaho potato flakes and had planned to make some to go with supper, however, I had forgotten that I am out of milk...

Can I still make them? Can I substitute sour cream? if so how much?

Answers:

Sure, sour cream would be great!! I think if you diluted the sour cream with water 1:1 it would give you a good consistency for the mashed potatoes.

1 cup water = 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup water

Replace the amount of milk it calls for with chicken broth and a tablespoon or two of sour cream. Delicious!

Microwave it :D
