How to hard boil an egg?!

Question: How to hard boil an egg?
How many minutes do I keep it in boiling water?

Thanks

Answers:

Adding an acid like vinegar or lemon juice reduces the chance of loosing the egg white if the egg cracks in the water. 10 min cooking and add the egg to boiling water when cooked cool rapidly under cold water (if you want them cold).

eggs to be boiled should be at room temp, remove from fridge night before. Set eggs in pot large enough to allow room without touching
Place eggs into pot, cover with cold water 1 inch above eggs. add dash of salt
set burner to medium, keep water at brisk simmer start timing ...not a rapid boil cook for 2 minutes will give a soft yoke, but
eggs keep cooking when pot is removed from heat, so let sit 2 mins off burner then remove from pot, set on a folded towel, cool

10

Boil water, egg in for 4 min, turn off water, wait 6 min. Cool, crack and consume.

This will leave your egg more tender. You can cook for longer but the longer you cook it the tougher it will be. I like too cook longer for things like deviled eggs so they don't fall apart when I fill them.

But for some reason my wife thinks 20. Shes crazy

I agree with "Joey": 10 minutes. You might find that if you place the egg in your pot, and just cover with cold water, then place on the burner, it won't crack, as some do. Time it from when water starts to boil.

Just until the water starts to boil..probably like 10-15 minutes. It depends how high its cooking.

5 minutes

Put it in a pan fill it with water and then leave it for 20 minutes .
