Question: I'm having a girls night ( adult girls night, lol) should I have more food than just pizza?
Hi all! I'm having a couple friends over on the weekend for a lady's night while our husbands are away at work, I am going to order pizza and we will be drinking wine, should I have more food than that? And if so, what do you think I should make? I rarely have friends over so I want to make this night a good one for all , thanks!!

Answers:

definitely not pizza! try making some nice appetizers (like mini pizza bagels if u want pizza...homemade eggrolls...mini fruit tarts etc), tons of wine, and a fun board game like apples to apples. it would be fun to get tipsy/drunk and play a board game :D

Hm if your friends agreed to a pizza, then go for it. Personally though, I'd suggest something lighter and more fun. Pizza just seems something less sophisticated, lol. I have a recipe for a spinach artichoke dip that goes like crazy, EVERYONE who has tried it absolutely loves it...and I mean everyone. And it isn't expensive or complicated to make at all! Try something like a dip or dips with pita bread and or crackers and or veggies to give it variety. It's rather simple but seems nicer than a pizza. Also have a dessert, so you ladies can curb your sweet tooth, cheesecake...brownies...pie..something sweet and delicious! This is just a personal preference though...if you'd like the recipe, please let me know!

Get some sushi - or roll your own its fun

Make some appetizers and finger foods, vege's and dip, fruits and cheese with salami and crackers or flatbreads

You can also get good bread and make brushetta or just dip it in olive oil, seasonings and balsamic

Just be more creative then bring it out in courses

I'd make vegetable crudités & some lo-fat dips, for those who don't want all carbs.
Carrot sticks, celery stalks, zucchini wedges, cauliflower & broccoli florets.
I use 50/50 lo-fat yoghurt & sour cream, add 1 tbsp of mayo for preservatives.
Flavour batches with mixed herbs/spices, horseradish, onion soup mix.

I have girls nights on a regular basis with a small group of friends and we have done fondue, sushi, and hor derves. ( I can't spell that stupid french word) Pizza sounds like you might as well be hanging out with the guys and it doesn't really go with wine....

Make it a total pig out night. Pizza, chips and dip etc...

Throw ina veggie tray just becuase it breaks up all the heavy junk food a bit.

Then have cupcakes or cookies, even ice cream sundeas for dessert.

Just go for comfort food.

I'd make a green salad or a fruit salad as a side. Maybe a vinaigrette dressing to go with it. Then dark, bittersweet chocolate for dessert -- goes WONDERFULLY with red wine.

buy Junk food along wit it so you guys can feel relaxed and reminisce on when you were younger

Make some Basic Crostinis (then you can top them with variations)..**TIP**....slice the baguette bread at a dramatic angle for a better presentation instead of straight across>>Basic Baked Crostini
INGREDIENTS
1 French baguette, sliced into 16 pieces, approximately 1/3” thick
2-3 tablespoons olive oil or olive oil spray
Salt and pepper, to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly brush or spray both sides of each bread slice, then arrange on a baking sheet. 2. Season each piece with salt and pepper. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and let cool before topping with ingredients.** Tip: After your party, if you have extra crostinis on hand, store them in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Try chopping them into quick and easy croutons for a salad or as a garnish for homemade soup. NOW FOR TOPPINGS:
There's: Brie & Bacon Crostini with Fruit Chutney
Brie Bacon Crostini Oozing with mild, melted cheese and accented with chutney, this savory yet sweet snack is always a crowd favorite Makes 16 pieces Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 1 minute
INGREDIENTS
16 crostinis
4 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and roughly chopped
4 ounces Brie cheese, sliced into 16 pieces
1/4 cup store-bought fruit chutney, flavor of your choice
1 bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped INSTRUCTIONS
1. Heat broiler to high. Arrange crostini on a baking sheet and top each with a slice of Brie. Top cheese with 4-5 bacon pieces. 2. Place baking sheet in the oven and broil very quickly, about 1 minute, or once the Brie begins to melt. 3. Remove from the oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes. Drizzle approximately 1 teaspoon chutney on each. Garnish with fresh parsley, then serve.
?Tip: Use your favorite chutney to finish your crostinis—in the winter, flavors like apple-cranberry, blackberry or our homemade Mango Chutney. Create multiple batches and top with different kinds to create more variety for your guests!

Another one is:Crostinis with Roasted Red Peppers, Golden Raisins & Blue Cheese
Roasted Red Peppers Crostini Instead of topping each crostini individually, combine the toppings into a mixture and use your crostinis for dipping. Set out this colorful combo of ingredients, then decoratively fan your bread around it. INGREDIENTS
1 jar (15-17 oz.) roasted red peppers, drained and roughly chopped
2 tablespoons pine nuts, lightly toasted
2 tablespoons golden raisins
2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped
16 crostinis, for dipping INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine the peppers, pine nuts, raisins and blue cheese in a medium-size bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 2. Garnish with parsley. Serve with crostinis. **Tip: Toasting nuts releases their natural oils, intensifying both the aroma and flavor. Before you combine your ingredients, pour the pine nuts into a sauté pan and let sit over medium-low heat for 2-4 minutes, until golden brown and fragrant. **TIP** Party Presentation Idea: Beautiful, colorful food can double as tabletop décor at any party. For an easy, inexpensive centerpiece, pile citrus fruits like lemons, limes, clementines and pomegranates in a large glass vase or bowl.
