Can you still eat food after it's been stored in metal containers?!

Question: Can you still eat food after it's been stored in metal containers?
I accidentally left the metal pot in the fridge after cooking. It's only been in the fridge for a day. This morning I switched the food to a glasss dish...

but is it still ok to eat the food?? I heard you weren't supposed to store food in a metal container.

Answers:

depends on the food and the type of metal

if it was an aluminum dish, and the food was acidic, it could have dissolved a fair amount of metal into the food

if it was stainless, or annodized aluminum, or even nonstick, its not something to worry about

Storing it overnight in a stainless steel pan will not cause any problems. There are even food storage containers made of stainless. It is considered a good replacement for plastic containers.
