Is it ok to Freeze Wheat?!

Question: Is it ok to Freeze Wheat?
I had some wheat that has not been ground up yet, I was storing it in the Garage over the winter where it was frozen and than warming a few times, but someone told me that this ruins the wheat's ability to rise when cooked. Can anyone help me on this

Answers:

Freezing is an excellent way to store whole wheat grains. It keeps the oils from going rancid. I don't like the thawing part but it should not have harmed it.

Wheat does not rise on its own, it requires yeast. Freezing it will not hurt it.

Yes
