the other day where they cooked a cheese in a wooden box,I believe the cheese was sold in it but i missed the name of the cheese,while i know there are a few cheeses sold in these boxes i dont know which ones can be melted in this way,it was used as a sort of a dip could anyone help please

The only one I have seen cooked in a box is Camembert - Le Rustique is readily available in supermarkets - and like Janet said, is delicious when studded with garlic cloves. However, having made this myself, I am not sure that it is suitable for a dip as it would be be too thick.
It's Camembert, and it's delicious if you poke some garlic into the cheese before heating it, then serve with crusty bread
