roast beef joint for 2?!

Question: Roast beef joint for 2?
I want to cook a sunday roast, but its just for two people

What sort of weight should I be looking for?
Also what do I ask the butcher for? Rolled silverside, sirloin etc?

Im guessing a joint for two people would be too thin to roast properly, since it would just fall on its side. So I dont mind having a bit left over for sandwiches, I just need approx weight

Thanks!

Answers:

it may sound tiny but the recommended serving is about 3 or 4 oz per person. I would recommend maybe 2 lbs because thats not a portion i would want but its fine for two people. The reason I recommend larger is because you have more wiggle room if you arent very experienced with cooking meat. Also if you are up for trying some different flavors i recommend marinating in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, coriander, and granulated garlic

Im a chef

When I cook a roast for my husband and myself, I usually select one that is 3-4 pounds. Plenty for a delicious meal and a few sandwiches.
