What are yummy ideas for fiber?!


Question: What are yummy ideas for fiber?
I have a touch time being regular with my bathroom movements. I go once every 4 days, and it makes me feel sluggish. I do not get nearly enough fiber, maybe 9 grams a day and I am supposed to get 30!

So how do you do it? What are your favorite veggies and fruits and snacks full of fiber? Or recipes you make?

Answers:

fruit with the skin on - apple, pear
vegetables - broccoli , peas, carrots, asparagus
for breakfast you could have fruit muesli like Alpen or even Weetabix.
Wholewheat/grain bread



Two things are important about regularity. Fiber and water.
Drink at least 64 oz of water daily. Everything counts Gatorade, even the broth in your soup.

Fiber: eat celery, carrot sticks, apples, pears, raisins, grapes, oranges.

I put 1 tablespoon of flax seed meal (available in supermarkets) in my oatmeal. I add it to mashed sweet potatoes. I've tossed it into rice salads and added it to spaghetti sauce. You can make a pot of chili and throw in about 1/2 cup of flax seed meal. Add it to casseroles. No one will know it's there. 1 table spoon of flax seed meal is about 1.5 grams of fiber but it also has a laxative effect on the body.
