Should I put shrimp in flower before frying?!

Question: Should I put shrimp in flower before frying?
I'm going to make fried shrimp with bread crumbs. The directions say to dip the shrimp in egg and then bread crumbs. Would it be okay if I put in flower first, and then the egg and breadcrumbs? Will it make a difference?
Also i forgot to thaw it out. Could I boil it for a while and then start? Or should I just wait for it to thaw?
Thanks guys!

I just thawed frozen shrimp last weekend -- forgot to take them out of the freezer and put them in the refrigerator the night before.

Got this hint from a google search and it worked perfectly.

Fill a large bowl with cold tap water. Place a colander in the bowl, then the frozen shrimp in the colander. Give the shrimp a stir every few minutes. I had 28 ounces of shrimp and they were all thawed within 15 minutes. Empty the water, place the colander (with the shrimp in it) back into the bowl and then put that in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to let more water drain off.

The shrimp were still fairly wet, so I put them on a 4-layer pile of paper towels, then blotted the top with more paper towels until they were dry enough. I then grilled the shrimp. If you are going to fry them, make sure you get out as much water as possible. Otherwise the breading won't stick.

By the way, when I do fry shrimp, I always dip them in flour, then egg, then bread crumbs. Dipping them in flour first will make the egg stay on better. Good luck!

No, don't boil frozen shrimp. You'll ruin it. Let it thaw either in the fridge overnight, OR put it in a pan of cold water (NOT running water) and let sit 5 - 10 minutes, or until thawed. Pat dry before breading. If your recipe says egg and breadcrumbs, I'd stick with that. You don't want the breading too, too thick.

The flour* will cause the egg to slip right off the shrimp, making it impossible to glue the breadcrumbs on. Then you'll end up with really thick breading.

Don't boil the shrimp, put them in the microwave for a few minutes until thawed.

It depends what kind of flower you're using. Roses would be okay, but if they're tulips, that would be a DISASTER! (Trust me! LOL!!) Check the package to find out what kind of flower you have!

Must be thawed, rinced and well dried. Flour, then egg, then seasoned breadcrumbs.

yes.. and btw it's spelled FLOUR (:

I'm asian

yep. add seasoning too
