Nilla Wafer cupcakes?!

Question: Nilla Wafer cupcakes?
My boyfriend wants nilla wafer flavored cupcakes with banana buttercream (its his birthday).. the buttercream I have no problem with but I'm not sure about the cake I was thinking about crushing the wafers up real fine and adding them to a yellow cake batter do you think that would work or make them too dense? or make them dry? any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Answers:

If you add them to the a regular batter it may come out too dry. You could always make a Vanilla cake crush up the cookies add them to the frosting and FILL the cupcakes?

Or sprinkle crumbled cookie on the top of the cupcakes? ORRRR

I like to use Nilla wafers in place of gram crackers when make some pie crusts of cheese cakes.
So crush the cookies in a zip lock back pound with rolling pin till they are fine. Add with some butter to make a crumb crust Press into the bottoms and sides of the cupcake tins or the cupcake papers then add your cake batter
