I'm making white cake cupcakes, can I leave out the egg yolks so it's pure white?!

Question: I'm making white cake cupcakes, can I leave out the egg yolks so it's pure white?
I'm planning on dying these rainbow for a class project.
I really want the colors to turn out vivid (i don't have gel food coloring, just the liquid kind) so I think if I put it in extremely white batter it will be better. I'm using boxed mix.
BUT, will the cupcakes taste bad? WIll something weird happen?
If I use the yolks, will the colors turn out really bad?

Answers:

Since you are using a white cake mix, are you sure it doesn't call for only egg whites. I have purchased white cake mixes for years and they almost always call for egg whites instead of whole eggs.

Eggs have been called "the cement that holds the castle of cuisine together.......Eggs provide richness, color, protein and tenderness....

DO NOT add more milk instead...............

no I wouldn't recommend it. The yolks aren't going to add much color anyways.

ya just put milk instead
