How to dilute "Hot Fudge"?!

Question: How to dilute "Hot Fudge"?
I bought some Fudge sauce from the supermarket the other day, and it turned out so think and viscous. I can't return, so I thought I could dilute it. A woman mentioned something about putting it over boiling water bath and adding some cream to it (since cream is already one of the components) so any idea how to do that?

Answers:

Boil water in a wide short pot on the stove. Place a metal, glass or ceramic bowl on top that will nestle in the pot above the water. Reduce heat to slow simmer and add chocolate. As it softens stir and add a little cream at a time until it comiscerates.

heating it will let it pour easier but when it gets cold it will get firm again. so if you want it to stay thin then yes you will have to add a little milk or cream
