What fruits are in season right now?!

Question: What fruits are in season right now?
I love apples and peaches, but I never know what to eat in the winter. Usually I make due with clementines, but they've been really bad recently (tasteless and dry) AND they raised the price. Peaches aren't good till summer, so I don't know what to do from now till then. HELP.

Answers:

You can only get access to vegetables these days.

If you love fruit, try kiwi, banana, pineapple or orange. There is only import there.

The globalization of the fruit market and faster, more readily available transportation have combined to give us access to fruit all year 'round. Remember that it is late summer south of the equator, where most of our winter fruits are grown. They may be a little higher in price, but if you crave them you will be willing to pay for the extra mileage they have to travel to get to your pantry.
I saw watermelons in the store in February! If you can't find good fruits at your local market, go to a larger megamart in a big city. They will most likely have some South American imports.

Well it really depends where you live.
I would suggest going to a good supermarket, like in my area there's a great place called Farm boy, and look around for something good. I'm guessing it's winter in your place too, so you probably won't find anything that is local. Look for fruits that came from somewhere near you, and look for labels that say 'organic' or for example 'ontario ministry approved'. You really just got to get out there and look for the fruits that look fresh and tasty. My favourites are berries and bananas. But really it's up to you to choose.

Most fruit and vegetables are imported from somewhere else...So it depends on the weather...And where they come from................

Roger, can't honestly help you there, most of our fruit produce is imported, nothing much really grows up here at 20 below.
