Cooking with Sweet potato?!

Question: Cooking with Sweet potato?
I bought myself some sweet potatoes, I had them before in a restaurant in Florida and the were quite nice epescially with the hint of cinnamon in it (which i love)

I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for cooking sweet potato with cinnamon

Thanks

Answers:

Mash it and mix cinnamon through it, or roast it and sprinkle cinnamon through it!!
Also it's nice in currys and stews etc...

Huge hit over thanksgiving... it will sound weird but it's so good

clean 4 sweet potatoes well and pat dry
poke them all around with a fork
drizzle with oil and bake at 375 for an hour until soft
let cool, while cooling put 2 unpeeled bananas in the oven and bake until they turn black.
Also let cool
Once cooled, peel the potatoes and the banana and put in a bowl
add 1 stick of butter, dash Cinnamon, couple drizzles of honey, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well
Put in a buttered baking dish and...
In another bowl, with your hands mix 1/2 stick of soft butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped pecans. sprinkle this over the potatoes
Bake uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes
let cool slightly and serve

Honestly, I really don't like sweet potatoes but these were so darn yummy!

Played off a Tyler Florence recipe... have made it and it's wonderful

Sure do!

It's from WIlliams Sonoma. I love there site for recipes. I've attached a link to this recipe and all their sweet potato recipes. I especially want to try the sweet potato chips...

* 3 orange-fleshed sweet potatoes, about 2 lb.
total
* 3 Tbs. unsalted butter
* 1 Fuji apple, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch
cubes
* 1/2 cup sliced green onion
* 1 cup cranberries, coarsely chopped
* 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
* Pinch of ground allspice
* 1/4 tsp. kosher salt, plus more, to taste
* Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions:
Preheat an oven to 350°F.

Set the sweet potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake until they still feel slightly firm when pressed, 50 to 55 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature. Place the sweet potatoes on a plate, cover loosely and refrigerate overnight. (Chilling them firms the flesh, making it hold together better in the hash.) The next day, peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into 1-inch pieces. Set aside.

In a nonstick fry pan over medium-high heat, melt 2 Tbs. of the butter. Add the apple cubes and sauté, stirring occasionally, until the butter browns and the apple cubes start to caramelize and brown around the edges, about 5 minutes.

Add the remaining 1 Tbs. butter to the pan. When it melts, stir in the green onion and cranberries and cook until the green onion wilts, about 1 minute. Stir in the cinnamon and allspice, add the sweet potatoes and cook, stirring frequently, until they are heated through, about 4 minutes. They will break up somewhat, but try to smash them as little as possible. Add the 1/4 tsp. salt, or more, to taste, and season with pepper.

Transfer the hash to a serving dish and serve hot, warm or at room temperature. Serves 6.

or some times butter and maple flavoring with sweetener

Just bake them then s[lit them open and topwith butter and cinnamon sugar.

I like to wrap them in foil and bake in the oven. Once they are done I add butter and a little cinnamon.
