Question: AMERICANS have your food prices seen exponential growth since the start of 2011? Im in Canada and scared?
I heard right before the great depression food prices soared, are we right about to go into depression?

in the last 3 months food prices where I am in montreal are double and sizes smaller example ( pasta 1.25$ for 900g is now $2.30 for 650g and this is only the last 3 months. My friend who lives in a remote community just paid 35$/l of juice and 79$ for cheezwhiz CRAZY

Answers:

The folks who have responded that the price of food has not gone up must not do the grocery shopping for their families. I life in the midwest section of the US and I can tell you the prices of many things has gone up. Eggs have almost doubled in price, milk and butter are also much higher. Meat has increased in price as has cereal (especially the name brands).

Nope. Things are pretty much the same here. Pasta is still a dollar, and I don't eat cheez whiz, so I have no idea what the cost of that is.
