Can I make a muffin with these ingredients?!

Question: Can I make a muffin with these ingredients?
As part of my food technology subject at school, we are doing a 'master chef creation test' where we have to choose 5 ingredients from a small list. The ingredients i have are cheese, self raising flour, milk, egg and butter. I also have 'free ingredients' which are salt, pepper and mixed herbs. Would I be able to make a cheese and herb savory muffin from this?

Answers:

Self-rising flour has leavening ingredients in it. Yes, you can make muffins with your available ingredients.

2 cups of flour
1 beaten egg
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup of melted butter
1/4 cup grated cheese plus some extra for top
1/2 tsp. each (to your liking) basil, dill, oregano, paprika, etc. or 1 T. each if they are fresh

Beat the egg. Add the milk and mix. Add the flour and mix. Add the melted butter, cheese, and herbs. Mix. Line cupcake pan with paper liners. Fill half full with muffin mix. Top with a little more shredded cheese. Bake for 25 minutes in a 375 degree oven or until lightly browned. Cool.

Yes you have everything you need to make so savory muffins but I would make no knead biscuits if I were you. In my opinion biscuits fit better with herbs. What ever you choose you can look up other recipes online to get the correct proportions for the ingredients
