Recipe for S.O.S. (sh*t on a shingle)?!


Question: Recipe for S.O.S. (sh*t on a shingle)?
My dad used to make creamed chipped beef on toast. He has had a stroke, and cannot make it anymore, I would like to make it for him as a surprise, anyone have an EXCELLENT recipe?

It gets really good reviews. As a last resort, Stouffers (the red boxes) makes it and you can usually find it in the frozen entree section at the grocery store. Good luck on doing something so nice for your dad. Also , a good idea would be to get a bunch of family recipes written down for yourself and future generations.



Pretty simple actually, simply make a white sauce using plenty of butter. Stir in the chipped beef & season. Pepper, salt, go easy on the salt, the beef is already very salty & the secret ingredient, a pinch of nutmeg. I make the white sauce with whole milk. Make it thin enough to soak into the toast but not runny.



I brown good ground beef and drain, then add a can of cream of mushroom soup with a little milk and pepper, then bake a can of refrigerated biscuits to put it on. yum
