Microwaving bacon help?!

Question: Microwaving bacon help?
Normally I'd check the packaging for instructions.. But there isn't instructions on how to microwave it, I've heard 1 minute per slice of bacon.. How long should I microwave it if I DO NOT want crispy bacon?

All reasonable answers get a thumbs up, trolls get a thumbs down, most helpful/fast answer gets a thumbs up and best answer!

I agree with punchie, but here are two thoughts:

1) Microwave ovens vary as to power, they vary from 300W to 1000W or more. This could affect cooking time greatly.

2) All bacon is not created equal. Regular bacon and thick-sliced bacon cook up differently. The fat content can also vary from brand to brand, which would affect cooking time.

My suggestion would be to try one brand and thickness at a time, and find out what gives you the best results. If you're happy, fine; if not, try another brand and experiment some more. Take notes! Once you find a combination of thickness, brand, and cooking time that works with *your* oven, stick with it.

Been through this process myself.

I'd start out with 30 seconds per slice of bacon. Remember you can always cook it longer if necessary.

normally for microwave cooking i cover my bacon with paper towels to reduce splatter. if you average 5 slices of bacon per plate id think a minute to two minutes would parcook the bacon.

Place bacon on paper towel and place one sheet over bacon...cook 45 seconds - 1 minute per slice....id recommnd only cooking a couple at a time though....if you want it less crispy cook it for a lesser time :)
