How to season potatoes while they're frying?!

Question: How to season potatoes while they're frying?
So far I have not been seasoning my chopped potatoes while they are frying, i usually just get them out of the oil then top with salt and pepper.

Is there any way to season them pre-fry or while frying?

For instance, I like the flavor of onion with my potatoes, could adding onions to the batch during the last five minutes of frying add any flavor?

Thanks for any tips :)

Try baking them. Add your chopped potatos with chopped onions (I add garlic as well) and sprinkle salt, pepper, and rosemary on top. Amazing. Bake at 400 for about 20 (approx) minutes.

Hi!

I make fried potatoes like this, and they are absolutely delicious!

Heavey skillet. Melt butter in the skillet. Potatoes washed, peeled and chopped into one inch cubes. Put the potatoes on the butter, on medium heat. Put chopped onion and minced garlic on top of the potatoes and cover. Let them go for about ten to twelve minutes on medium. Turn everything over with a spatula and sprinkle seasalt, freshly ground black pepper and paprika on the mix. Cover and cook on a lower heat now until they're tender, stirring them occassionally. The paprika adds a little zip and spice and a lovely flavour! Yummmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! They turn out every time to be soooooo delicious!!! Enjoy!

another way to get good flavor is to start saving your bacon grease and fry your potatoes in that, and you can add salt and pepper as you fry, and add your onions too. bacon grease is used here when i cook, more than anything, and adds good flavor..store in a tin coffee container with a lid in the fridge after you fry up bacon and just keep adding and taking away from the tin..

Yes, you can add onions or scallions to the potatoes as they're frying. If you add salt and pepper as they're frying, rather than waiting until they're done, the seasoning will penetrate deeper into the potatoes and you'll get a richer flavor.

i do baked oven fries and season them before baking.

sprayrawfries with cooking spray. season. spray again.

bake in preheated oven at 400 for 20 to 40 minutes.

i don't believe seasoning while deep frying will work, but in a low amount of oil in a frying pan, it should be fine.

I would use onion powder or onion salt and season them just out of the fryer. If you season them while they are frying, you'd have to toss out the oil otherwise anything you deep fry after that will taste like your seasoning.

i add the onions salt pepper when i put the potatoes on to cook i think it takes longer to cook than 5 min you could also add green peppers too
