People who have made a cake using fondant?!
I want to make a cake using fondant for my daughter's 1st birthday, so I want to do a practice run first.
I'm looking at rolling pins online and they are like 20 bucks. That's a little pricey. I've seen rolling pins that are larger in the middle (French rolling pins?). Do those work the same way? Or if I used this one, would my sheet of fondant be uneven? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have found that useing the french rolling pin is not always the best rolling pin for rolling fondant. Michaels has a set that has a smalling rolling pin in it or you can price the biggers ones @ Michaels. There is a 50% off coupon on the homepage of their site right now. So... if you go to MIchael's use the coupon to purchase the pin you should be good to go with a bargin.
Happy baking!
