How to make semisweet chocolate chips?!

Question: How to make semisweet chocolate chips?
I moved from the U.S. to Bangladesh and I can't find chocolate chips anywhere! I want to bake some Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies like I always do, so does anyone know any substitutes for Chocolate Chips or how to make them? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Answers:

If you can find dark chocolate candy bars, you can chop those up and use as the chips.

There really is no substitute for chocolate chips in some form for those cookies--chopped chocolate bars is about it. Can you order them online? If not, you might look in to Swap-bot.com where you can find someone who would be willing to send you some in exchange for something from your country that would be interesting and unavailable in theirs.

http://www.swap-bot.com You join, and sign up for swaps in groups or with individuals, it's lots of fun, but can be addictive, too! ;)

BTW, this isn't any sort of advertisement for Swap-bot--I've just found it to be a great way to get things from places I can't go! I've been a member for 5 years and have had over 500 satisfying swaps with new friends from all over the world. There is no cost to join, an you choose the swaps you want to be in, and often ti only costs you postage.

KMcG is correct.
Semisweet is synonymous with Dark.
I personally use Milk chocolate in cookies, even though my father who is a baker tells me to use semisweet, I just never liked dark chocolate.

I think KMcG gets these points.
