is whipped cream the same as whipping cream?!

Question: Is whipped cream the same as whipping cream?
im trying to make a cheesecake and it is asking for a cup of whipping cream and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, then it says whipped until soft peaks form.

Answers:

Whipping cream is cream which is for whipping but has not yet been whipped. Once it has been whipped (or beaten) it becomes whipped cream. So you have to add the sugar to the whipping cream and beat it in a bowl till it is light and stiff and can form peaks when you pull it with the beater or you can turn the bowl upside down and the cream remains inside.

whipped cream- already been whipped, added sugar, and vanilla. redi whip comes in an aresol can
cool whip comes in a tub from freezer section

whipping cream is heavy cream that you use in cooking. you can use it in making sauces, cakes, cheesecakes, etc and also its the initial product you use to make whipped cream from, if you add vanilla sugar and beat it for 2 min till it becomes incorporated with air and fluffs up.

If it's for the topping (which I'm sure it is), you can use Cool Whip.
Unless it calls for "heavy cream" before baking, then you can't use whipped cream.

Whipping cream is a raw ingredient, heavy cream, comes in a small carton in the dairy section.
It's thick, and has an expiration date.

Whipped cream is a topping.

Whipping creme can be found in the dairy case next to the milk. Whipping cream or creme needs to be poured into a bowl, add the sugar suggested, and beaten on high speed with an electric mixer for approx 10 min until peaks like mountains occur. Add the sugar to taste, but only add while mixing. So your answer is YES! Too easy!

Whipped cream is not the stuff with preservatives in it, that cool whip! UUGh!

Absolutely not! Whipping cream is thick milk (buy it at your local grocery store by the milk) that you actually have to whip to get said peaks. Whipped cream is the crap you put on pie that has a bunch of preservatives and sugar in it, trust me, you don't want that in your cheesecake!

I think it's the same thing, but the cans of whipped cream are not usually called whipping cream, so maybe the kind you make yourself is the real whipping cream.

no. Whipped cream is passed tense. YOu get whipping cream and whip it, so it turn into whipped cream.

no
