WHAT IS PANCAKE TUESDAY?!

Question: WHAT IS PANCAKE TUESDAY?
EVERYONE ON HERE IS TALKIN BOUT PANCAKE TUESDAY WHAT IS IT

Answers:

It's actually called Shrove Tuesday, which is the day before Ash Wednesday which signals the beginning of Lent. Sometimes it's called Fat Tuesday. The idea is to party hearty because you'll be fasting for 40 days until Easter.

Pancake Tuesday is the Tuesday (last day) before Lent - the period of fast and abstinence (lasting 6 weeks) before Easter Sunday (The rising)! So, pancakes are deemed a luxury item & cooked ad infinitum - fairly basic pancakes served with sugar and lots of freshly squeezed lemon drizzled over them - each person sugaring & squeezing their own pancake! When you have lots of children it's best start early & have a pot of very hot water with a large plate on top to stack the pancakes (with a disc of greaseproof paper between each one at the ready) and a lid to keep the covered & hot - it's also useful to use two frying pans at the same time to speed things along - do you need the recipe for the batter?

Experience!

It is also known as Shrove Tuesday.
Shrove Tuesday is a term associated in English-speaking countries, especially the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia,[1] New Zealand, and parts of the United States[2] for the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of the season of fasting and prayer called Lent.
