I have invented a chocolate bar...?!

Question: I have invented a chocolate bar...?
Hi all,

In my spare time at the office i work at, i've created a chocolate bar which i believe has some potential. I will not give out information on what the bar is called or what it contains as i want to patent it myself!!!

But my question is, if i really get behind my idea and want to make something of it, what are my next steps?
Do i go to a chocolate factory and tell them my idea? Do i tell Cadbury/Nestle?

Thanks....

You should check with an attorney. When it comes to food the FDA becomes involved. then there is the whole thing with privacy of the recipe. You wouldn't want to tell it to any company without a contract in place as they could say it was theirs. the only other way is to produce it in your kitchen and sell it yourself. but then there is the health department, income tax etc. I would definitely talk to an attorney.

First make up a batch of those candy bars and pass them around to people you trust and ask for their honest opinions on them. It they all agree that they are terrific, then start searching the web for ideas.

make a bunch your self then hand them out locally and make a little money then once your big in your town and in the newspaper, someone will notice you!

First of all you cant patent a recipe. If you make and sell some you would be able to go to choc companies and show how much people like them.

Tell them all.
But keep your mind open
if its as good as your saying it is. One of them are bound to want to trial it.
GO FOR IT
