Yum!! Love them! I make mine with american cheese, mayo, pineapple ring & wavy chips.

just potato chips in a sandwich? No....but potato chips in a ham and cheese or a turkey sandwich.....oh yeah!

Edit: I had a chip butty once--that's a french fry (chip) sandwich. My English stepmom made them for us. She made the 'chips' then toasted white bread and slathered mayo over it. Layered the potatoes then added some salt & pepper. I think I gained 4lbs eating ONE of those sandwiches, and I felt awful afterwards. So, yes, I've had a 'chip' sandwich before! Did I like it? Not really.

As a kid we used to do white bread with mayonaise, bologna, american cheese and crushed potato chips......awesome! Once in a while I enjoy crushed sour cream and onion chips on a meatloaf sandwich....
