Question: How do You get candy to not go to the bottom of the cake when you bake it?
Im making a cake with candy in it and I have made a tester cake but all the candy went to the bottom of the cake when it cooked. How do I get it to stay scattered though out the cake.

Dust the candy with some flour or a bit of the mix of dry ingredients. Dusting any add-ins and folding them just before baking will help assure that they don't sink to the bottom of the final product.

Try using less liquid in the batter.
If that is not an option then mix the batter, place it in the cake pan and distribute the candie on the top of the batter, mix slightly. It may migrate toward the bottom, but you should have a better chance that it will be distributed more evenly.

Slightly cook the cake first and then insert the candy after a few minutes of baking. you can use a skewer to insert the candy after you pushit ing with your fingers slighty. the cake should reform around the holes while it finishes baking

Not sure, but if you use layers, add candy only to the top layer so that the candy actually sits in the middle of the completed cake.

Try tossing it in flour before blending it in. That's what Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) does when she adds chips or fruit to bread or muffins.

You could try baking it for a few minutes to get the batter to thicken, then take it out and put the candy in

cook it part way.
