what is a tomato bouillon substitute?!


Question: What is a tomato bouillon substitute?
im making Spanish rice and i need a tomato boullion but i dont have any..is there anything i can use instead??

Stir in some tomato paste (1 tbs or so) to your stock / water that you are cooking the rice in. If your rice calls for 2 cups of tomato boullion stock then put 1 tbs tomato paste in a two cup measure and fill it up the rest of the way with water and give it a good stir before using.



Replace part of the water (half or more, depending on how strong of a tomato flavor you're looking for) with tomato juice. Also add a bit more salt, a pinch or two, since the bouillon usually has a lot of salt in it.



Most likely you could substitute it with tomato juice.
