How do you make Sangria Cava?!


Question: How do you make Sangria Cava?
I spent my honeymoon in Barcelona and absolutely loved the Sangria Cava served at Cafe de l'Opera. Has anyone ever seen a recipe from Cafe de l'Opera for Sangria Cava? I've browsed some recipes online but many call for soda, cinnamon sticks or mint, and I don't think any of those things were in this particular recipe, as far as I can remember from what I tasted.

Where does the sangria recipe come from? Sangria, without a doubt, comes from the spanish word ′sangre′ meaning blood. Blood, as we all know is a thick red liquid, essential for life. Well, the Spanish feel the same when they talk about their precious thick red liquid they call wine and their special ′potion′ they call sangria recipe.

Red wine sangria recipe

* Ingredients for 4 persons:
* 1 bottle of chilled medium to good quality red wine
* ? cup of sugar (may vary depending on sweet tooth ! )
* 1 can of an orange fizzy drink
* 1 can of a lemon fizzy drink
* 3 pieces of different fruits ( cut in wedges or chunks-it is not necessary to peel them)
* 1 tray of ice cubes.

Pour the bottle of red wine into a ceramic pitcher and stir in the sugar with the wooden spoon. Then add the ingredients in the order they are listed and stir again. The pieces of fruit are delicious for dessert, too.

White Sangria Recipe

* 1 bottle of Cava or Champagne ( very cold)
* 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice ( it also works well with cranberry juice).

* 6 not too long cinnamon sticks
* crushed ice
* mint leaves

Heat the water, sugar and cinnamon sticks and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Let this cool off and then remove sticks. Chill overnight along with the Cava or Champagne. Mix all together and serve over crushed ice to liven up the taste buds! After pouring each one this refreshing party punch, decorate with a mint leave to put a touch of class to your sangria recipe.

Things You'll Need:

* 1 bottle of cava
* 3/4 of a cup of a good quality orange liqueur like Cointreau or Grand Marnier
* 3/4 of a cup of peach schnapps
* 1 cup of lemonade
* 10 oz. strawberries
* 1 mango
* 2 tbs of sugar
* Wooden spoon
* Serving jug or punch bowl

Instructions
1.
Dice the strawberries and mango. Ideally, piece sizes should be small enough to fit on a flute glass but big enough so they don't look insignificant. Set the mango apart.

Place the strawberries in the serving jug and stir in the sugar. Let the mixture sit in the jug for an hour or so. By that time, the strawberry juices will have come out and will give sweetness and the traditional reddish color to the sangria.

Stir in the diced mango.

Add the orange liqueur and the peach schnapps. Stir and let the mix sit in the refrigerator for an extra hour so the fruit absorbs the alcohol.

Mix in the bottle of cava and the lemonade. Stir and serve immediately.
