Question: Im baking regular bread( wheat) and im wondering if i could change the order of the ingredients around(just..?
a few things? i wnat to mix butter wuth flour first (instead of water) and then add water?
would this change anything?
and in general when im baking bread or anything else(like cookiesm from sctrach ) is it alright to change the order i mix/ put in the ingredients? if its not okay any like "side effects", or differences from if i did the original way?

Answers:

The reason you are supposed to mix things in order is because they mix completely with each other easiest. Not because of taste or flavor but because it will eliminate any lumps and bumps in your baked goods.

There is generally a reason someone specifies precise order of adding ingredients.

Why don't you follow the recipe exactly and see what the results are. Then try it your way and compare the two.

My money is riding on the established recipe making better bread. Remember, cooking is an art, but baking is a science.

Baking is a science. It does matter the way you combine your ingredients. You should follow the instructions for best results.
