What can I substitute for mustard?!

Question: What can I substitute for mustard?
someone I know is allergic to mustard, and a lot of recipes calls for using mustard in them, can anyone find a good substitute? i tried looking online & found nothing.

Answers:

Honestly you can leave it out of most recipes....

Unless you're looking at a recipe that calls for a lot of it, then you can just skip it. If you want to try subbing in something, I would try a dab of horseradish sauce maybe, because of the strong flavor?

Mustard is an added flavoring to most recipes. Unless it is a intricate part of the recipe, i.e. Honey Mustard Sauce, you should be able to just omit it with only a slight taste change.

Mustard is mainly crushed mustard seeds and vinegar. There are many flavored vinegars on the market that would be a good substitute in any recipe where mustard is an ingredient.

Try using vinegar, just use less than what the recipe calls for mustard.

nothing

It would really depend on the recipe. Do you have a particular recipe you're wanting to make?
