Will adding food color to coconut macaroons ruin them?!
I am planning on baking green and gold macaroons for Sunday's Superbowl party (consider I am a die hard Packer fan), and I was just wondering if adding green food color to the macaroons in the process would effectively ruin them?

No, they'll be fine. You can either add a couple drops of food coloring to the egg whites before whipping them. Or dye the coconut before adding it. For that, I add the food coloring to water, then stir it into the coconut, then spread the coconut out on paper towels to dry before using.
It really depends upon how green you want your macaroons!
