Best hot cocoa Recipe?!

Question: Best hot cocoa Recipe?
I'm looking for a recipe that uses milk. I don't want to use half and half or nonfat dry milk. I also need it to use cocoa. I've looked through some on All Recipe and Food Network Recipes. Does anyone have some tried and true HOMEMADE Hot Cocoa recipes?

Answers:

the one that used to be on the can of Hersheys cocoa is a classic and tried and true, from me anyway.
We used to make huge vats of it for 4-H meetings and other group functions back in the 60's.

You can also allow to cool, stick it in a jug in the fridge and you have some great chocolate milk that beats the socks off anything done with nestles quick.

Ingredients

* 2 cups powdered sugar
* 1 cup cocoa (Dutch-process preferred)
* 2 1/2 cups powdered milk
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch
* 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste
* Hot water

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and incorporate evenly. In a small pot, heat 4 to 6 cups of water.

Fill your mug half full with the mixture and pour in hot water. Stir to combine. Seal the rest in an airtight container, keeps indefinitely in the pantry. This also works great with warm milk.

Hiya!
Here is my recipe I just to do when I want hot cocoa. So much milk you want to drink, take 2 tablespoon cocoa powder per person, buy as good quality of cocoa powder as you can. Droste is a brand that I think is a fine sort. Then you take 2-3 tablespoon of caster sugar. Poor milk, cocoa and sugar in a saucepan and heat it for couple of minutes. Watch out so the milk does not burn in the saucepan or it's boil over. And in the end take a pinch or two of vanilla powder, stir and enjoy! A dollop of whipped cream is realy nice too.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

My favorite hot chocolate actually is simply shaved semi sweet chocolate and milk

2-3 heaping tablespoons of shaved chocolate and 3/4 cup of milk microwaved till hot. Stir to make sure all the chocolate is melted, fill your glass the rest of the way with milk and heat again.
