Does anyone have hors d'oeuvre recipes?!
Assuming the streets ever clear of snow.
Thank you.

Dips? Everybody makes 'em and they are messy.
Hot wings? Cliche!
This is my go-to recipe when I need an hors doeuvre - and you can fill it however you like! Sweet? Savory? Yep.
Get a package of wonton wrappers. Spray a muffin pan (one that makes the small muffins) with non-stick spray. Place a wrapper in each cup and carefully press the wrapper to the bottom and sides. Spray the wrappers very lightly again. Place in the oven at about 350 until the wrappers are a little changed in color and crisp.
Now the fun begins....you could even place out bowls of fillings and let people fill their own, I guess, but I've never done that.
We like cream cheese, finely sliced green onions, chopped shrimp, a little salt, a little garlic, a little onion powder. And no bake cheese cake filling, topped with some cherries or your favorite fruit. Yogurt, cream cheese, fruit. (dust those last two with powdered sugar) Drained black beans, pico de gallo, shredded cheese. Just look at what you have and fill 'em up!
This is my all-time favourite hors d'oeuvre! Absolutely scrumptious!!! Mushroom turnovers made with creamcheese pastry!!!
Ingredients:
?9 oz softened cream cheese
?1/2 lb of minced mushrooms
?1/4 cup of sour cream
?1/2 teaspoons of thyme leaves
?1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
?1/2 cup of butter or margarine
?1 large onion
?1 teaspoon of salt
?1 egg, beaten
Directions:
In a medium bowl, mix well cheese, flour and butter to form a dough. Wrap the dough, chill for one hour.
Meanwhile, cook the mushrooms and onion in 3 tablespoons of butter until tender. Stir in salt, thyme and 2 tablespoons of flour until blended, turn off the heat, stir in the sour cream. Put aside.
On a floured surface, roll out half of the dough (to about 1/8th of an inch thick), cut into 2 3/4 inch circles, roll scraps of dough into a ball and chill. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
On half of each circle of dough put a teaspoon of the mushroom mixture, brush edges with beaten egg. Fold dough over filling, press edges together with a fork, prick tops. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Brush turnovers with egg. Cover and chill (I only chill them if I am not planning on cooking them right away, they taste good either way).
25 minutes before serving, preheat oven to 450 degrees F, bake the turnovers for 12 minutes until golden brown.
Beware though!!! Once you make them, your friends and family will always ask you for them every time!!!
I had a cookbook once that had this recipe and these were unbelievably tasty! I just looked it up for you and found it on Hubpages.....
These are all fast and easy party munchie standbys:
Hot wings:
Deep fry chicken wing joints (except the tips) in 375 oil until crispy. Drain on paper towels, salt and pepper when hot. Toss with melted butter and Tabasco to coat. Serve with carrot sticks and celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
7 Layer Dip:
in a clear bowl so you can see the layer, put in this order from the bottom up:
Can of refried beans
Salsa or jalapenos
Sour Cream
Shredded Lettuce
Guacamole or mashed avocado
Shredded Mexican mixed cheese
Black olive slicess
Serve with tortilla chips.
Spinach Dip in Bread Bowl
Sour dough bread loaf hollowed out and filled with a spinach dip. I forget the exact measurements, but it's on the Knorr Spinach Dip mix package in the soup aisle. A cup each of mayo and sour cream, some water chestnuts, a frozen spinach package defrosted and drained, with hot sauce and garlic to taste, I think. Use the bread you cut out of the loaf in chunks for dipping, as well as Triscuits. The bowl after the dip is gone is the best bites of the dish!
Fast Queso
Melt the medium size Velveeta loaf with a can of Rotel tomatoes and chilies (hot, mild, or with lime and cilantro) until hot and bubbly; keep in a crock pot or chafing dish; serve with fritos dips.
Easy Bean Dip
Mix a can of refried beans with 1/2 can of rotel and 1/2 medium loaf of velveeta, until hot and bubbly; keep in a crock pot or chafing dish; serve with fritos dips.
Cream Cheese and Shrimp
Put a 12 oz block of cream cheese on a plate and let soften. Pour over a 12-oz jar of chili sauce and a small can of bay shrimp, rinsed and drained. Serve with wheat thins, triscuits, or other crackers.
Cocktail Weenies
Mix a jar of grape jelly and a small jar of yellow mustard and heat in a pan until bubbly; put in Lil Smokie Cocktail Weenies. Transfer and keep in a crock pot or chafing dish; serve toothpicks to dip out of sauce.
Don't forget to make the Chex Mix. It's so much better than the stuff you buy in the bags at the store! The recipe is on the boxes of cereal; 3 kinds of chex mix, pretzels, nuts, cheese crackers, mixed, with melted butter, garlic and worchestershire melted, tossed together and baked, if I remember right.
Gorgonzola potato chips
Ridiculously easy version of a popular restaurant cocktail nibble.
Ingredients
1 12 to 14 ounce bag Kettle-cooked potato chips
6 ounces crumbled Gorgonzola or favorite bleu cheese
3 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
Freshly ground black pepper
Freshly minced parsley
Method
Adjust oven rack to center of oven and heat broiler to high. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Arrange potato chips on tray in an even layer. Sprinkle the chips with the cheese, bacon and ground black pepper.
Broil until fragrant and bubbling. Use a spatula to move the chips to a serving platter; strewn chips and platter with minced parsley.
STUFFED JAPLAPENO'S
10 or 12 peppers cut in half, seeded and membranes removed
1 lg. pk. creamed cheese
1 roll James Dean Original sausage
Fry up the sausage braking in to small pieces ( smaller the better)
In a bowl mix the cooked sausage and cheese together
Stuff pepper halves
cook in 350 oven for 30 mins
may be hot
While looking for cookbooks online I found a book that has hundreds of recipes from a lot of the famous restaurants including Red Lobster, Applebee's, Olive Garden and The CheeseCake Factory just to name a few. It is loaded with great recipes that I love. Check it out if you want to; http://bit.ly/ePoirn

I'm making stuffed jalape?os: Buy the fresh "large" jalape?os cut them lenghtwise. Spread cream cheese and wrap em with a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick. You can grill em or put em in the oven at 350 for about 20min. Note: the larger the jalapeno the less spicy they are. good luck and enjoy!
Ah yes...Snow...I have myself forgotten what grass actually looks like. = )
My S.O. got some perdue chicken wings that he is going to marinate and bake. (Teriyaki and hot wings). We are also going to have cheese and crackers and raw veggies with some sort of dip.
