Cinema way of making pop corn?!

Question: Cinema way of making pop corn?
Why the pop-corn from cinema places tastes so great while the ones made home are not that good?

Are the adding something extra?

Answers:

I worked at the M Theatre in Ann Arbor Michigan when I was in college and we used, and I learned that most movie theatres used, Weaver Gold popcorn, red coconut oil and popcorn salt (think superfine sugar, but salt instead).

The coconut oil is the key, unfortunately it is a trans-fatty acid and pretty bad for you (any trans fats you consume are never digested, in other words, once they are in you, they stay in you) ... but that doesn't mean it doesn't taste great!

I always over-salted because I love salt and it increased drink sales.

The best movie theatre popcorn is popped fresh and served hot.

I hope this helps!

If you are comparing pop corn at a movie theater to a bag of microwave popcorn that's why. Microwave pop corn is crap. Get a bag of popcorn kernels from your grocery store. Get some oil. Make it on the stove top and then pour melted butter and salt on top. It's really not that hard. I guess it's harder than sticking a bag in a microwave, but it doesn't exactly require a culinary degree.

i dont think so, but have you tried making it on the stove?
all you need are the kernals and some oil and a saucepan.
add your seasonings right as it's done, while hot

ifyou are smart, at your next movie outing...take some of the salt or whatever is laying out! : )

Microwave popcorn is one of the most disgusting things on the planet. Cinemas used to use a hot air popper, which makes good popcorn. To me the best is done on the stovetop, but my hot air popper is easier.

usually its the butter substitute they use
you can purchase this in most supermarkets and grocery stores.

Coconut oil is the key! Any other oil the popcorn goes stale after 24hrs but coconut oil its good for a week.Enjoy
