Frying vegetables ok?!

Question: Frying vegetables ok?
Heyyy,

I consider myself a healthier eater because a majority of my shopping at university is veg and lots of it. If I have the time I do normally roast my veg but because it takes so long I opt to putting it in the wok. I always use olive oil ... just out of preference.

My question is, is it unhealthy to fry the veg? I fry everything in the wok with a bit of oil and just make stir fry with noodles or something ...

Just curious. I like eating healthy but don't want to defeat the object of buying veg and cooking it wrong.

Thanks! (:

Olive oil is great. And you can wok it. But think about it, it's like eating take-way wok food every time. Apart from the oil, as wok places use a lot of oil and salt. Better to boiled the veg, say Brussels sprouts, steam broccoli and cauliflower and eat with a minute steak and a salad. Takes ten minutes from getting it out the fridge to the plate!

No it is a good balance to have the healthy stuff but cook it the way you like, try it with less oil and add half a teaspoon of honey instead!

Stir frying is a great way to cook veg, especially using olive oil. If your looking for a different cooking method you could steam, which helps keep the nutrients.

Nothing wrong with stir fry veg. Just not all the time. What about a veg curry or ratatouille for a change?
