Chocolate chips in chocolate chip cookies keeps getting burnt?!

Question: Chocolate chips in chocolate chip cookies keeps getting burnt?
Whenever I bake chocolate chip cookies, the cookies themselves turn out fine, but the chocolate chips come out scorched and burned. They taste fine, but the texture is flaky and not gooey like chocolate should be. Thanks!

what kind of chocolate chips are you using? if your using an off brand or something, might be worth goin for the tollhouse and see if it makes a difference

Hi I found a post on a chocolate blog and basically you should use chocolate morsels in your recipes because the chocolate is made with a different amount of cocoa butter to keep the chocolate gooey and not burnt. You learn something new everyday, lol

Hope that helps

Use a baking sheet that has an air layer. Keeps the bottom of the cookies from browning too much.

try not to get any chocolate chips on the bottom, thats what i do and mine always come out nice and gooey

I agree with Angel. If you are using an off brand that could be it. Like she said try something like Toll House.
