expiry date for a double chocolate loaf help?!

Question: Expiry date for a double chocolate loaf help?
I bought a reduced double choc loaf and it says best before 1st febuary , its now the 5th... Would it still be ok to eat because I know with some foods it doesn't necessarily matter if you go a bit over the expiry date

Of course it is fine....just sure there is no mold on it !!!

It should be fine. The best by date is only when it's at it's peak of deliciousness, not when it's going to get moldy.
As long as there is no actual mold on it, and it tastes good, go for it!

EDIT: Milk and eggs are good for 1 week past the 'expired' date on the container, just to let people know. Because 1: they want you to throw things out and buy more before you have to. It makes them money and 2: it's a best by date, not a "this will go bad on this exact date" date :) lol

You can go almost over a week with a loaf of bread. Sometimes it expires before the due date. If it has a wine smell to it throw it away. If it goes bad, there will be mold on it. Dont worry if you accidently eat moldy bread you wont get sick. You would have to eat a ton of mold to get sick.

I wouldn't eat anything past the expiray date.

it should be fine just check for any mold. best by date is just when its the most delicious.

Eat and enjoy, the cake will be fine..

weeell if it looks good and tastes good eat it.. but theres 70% you will get a tummyache.. so GOOD luck

Of course it is fine
