Need Some Cake help...?!

Question: Need Some Cake help...?
Making a cake for a small baby shower y today. Made a White Pillsbury box cake and an going to use white frosting. It will be three 8 inch rounds and I am going to top it with fresh flowers and a ribbon around the base.

Do you have any suggestions on how to liven it up the frosting or what to do in the layers? I thought about adding strawberries to one center layer and blueberries to the other but I don't want it to look patriotic LOL

Answers:

sometimes simpler is better i think it will look great the way it is

Hi, there! It sounds like the cake is going to lovely! One of my favourite things to do to make a fancy tasting, but dreadfully easy filling, is to take a jelly of my choice and melt it down. I love to use raspberry, but I send it through a sieve in order to remove all the little seeds. I either put it in between the layers just like that, or I add it into the frosting which gives it a lovely taste and colour. You could use blueberry jelly if it's going to be a boy, or raspberry, or strawberry, or cherry if it's a girl..
I hope this helps. In any case, happy decorating. Also, you can just enter into your search box "what fillings go with white cake"
Take care!

Don't worry about putting fresh fruits for inside frosting. You can add some jam over the layers and then add your frosting.

You can tint the frosting in 3 other colors, write ABC around the cake and draw a border for frame with opposite color, that will make it look like a baby shower cake. Or you can draw an umbrella shape, and some tear drop shapes with opposite color.

You could use raspberry preserves or strawberry...or both. You could also use lemon curd. Good luck!

You may add cherries as bordering...it will look good...
