How can I make myself eat breakfast?!
Answers:
Iv been through this, and I just had to force myself. Eventually you'll get used to it and you'll start to wake up hungry.
Try fruit salad and yoghurt, Toast and tea, light pancakes (if you make the batter the night before and leave it in the fridge over night they're much nicer) , crepes, bacon eggs and toast, porridge, sausages and toast, toasty (bacon, eggs, sausages, onions and cheese on toast), cereal, jam/butter/marmalade and toast, croissant's, mixed nuts....
If your stomach is sensitive in the morning, you want to stick with foods that are a bit bland with no crazy flavorings. However just because you shouldn't have intense flavors, the food can still be good. Oatmeal is a great breakfast. You can add a bit of brown sugar to make it sweeter and put fresh fruit in it if you wish. Granola bars are also good for breakfast, but make sure you buy the low sugar varieties. Fresh fruit would also be an option and contain a lot of nutrients. Toast with a bit of butter, jelly, or peanut butter would be good too. Bagels and english muffins with a bit of peanut butter or cream cheese would also be good. Often times I will make some homemade muffins and then freeze them so that in the morning, I just have to microwave until they are defrosted. The flavor is still great and you can find a recipe that is healthy. Don't let a sensitive stomach prevent you from eating the most important meal of the day.
I like applesauce.
Mae it by peeling and chopping apples, so you have ten or so apples in pieces.
Put a half cup of water in a pan and heat it so it's simmering, and add the juice of one lemon.
Then add the apples.
Simmer gently and add cinnamon and nutmeg.
Keep stirrring until they're soft. You can mash them in the pan, they only take a few minutes to get soft enough.
Homemade applesauce is so good. Then in the morning heat it through and add to a little oatmeal or yoghurt- make sure the you have a lot of applesauce- it's tangy and gentle on your stomach and better than a whole bowl of stodgy oatmeal, which can be heavy.
I LOVE it with plain yoghurt- the greek kind, strained Greek yoghurt, it's so good with hot applesauce. Bit of brown sugar or honey....so good and very calming on your stomach.
If you want to be more healthy, egg white omelets make a great alternative to a regular omelet.Be sure to balance the calories eaten with the calories spent so that you won't be tired or overweight.100% juice is a great drink.A dry piece of toast without butter will also do.
Try having turkey bacon, whole wheat toast with sugar free preserves, two egg whites (scrambled) and some fresh fruit.
A dry piece of toast, apple sauce. These are things my daughter first ate after she got over the stomach virus.
